This is a nice, empathetic doc that speaks the truth of street hustling. It doesn't attempt to make heroes or villains out of anyone. The boys are unusually eloquent. Perhaps that's a product of their Vancouver locale.
I've seen other street hustling docs that focus on the sex or violence or the taboo. The voice of this film is not exploitative. It doesn't try to titillate. The film uses some unnecessary editing effects, although nothing too distracting. Nothing in the film is graphic. They boys speak of drugs and sex, yet the visuals don't do much to reinforce the stories. It is primarily filled with talking heads discussing life on the street.
Overall, I'd recommend it. It lets the boys' stories be told without any moral judgment, on them or society.
